The Baldwin County Trailblazers kicked off a bicycle-friendly campaign this summer to recognize businesses that accommodate bicycles for their customers. More than 20 businesses in Gulf Shores, Foley, Fairhope, Daphne and Spanish Fort have been awarded window decals that identify them as bicycle-friendly.
“We want to raise awareness that a growing cyclist community is good for business,” says Jennifer Vestal, president of the Trailblazers, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding opportunities for biking and walking within the county. The organization also founded the 22-mile Eastern Shore Trail.
